Farm energy grants Ireland 2026

Two major grant schemes for farms — TAMS III for on-farm use and NDMG for commercial buildings. Up to 60% capital grant available.

TAMS III — Farm Solar Capital Grant

Up to 60% capital grant

Maximum grant: €90,000 per holding. Farm must be a registered herd owner or have farm number.

NDMG — Non-Domestic Microgen Grant (for farm buildings)

Sheds, grain stores, processing buildings, and milking parlours qualify for NDMG. This is a separate scheme from TAMS and can be claimed alongside it for different buildings.

NDMG tiered rates for farm buildings

  • 0–2 kWp: €900/kWp
  • 2–10 kWp: €600/kWp
  • 10–50 kWp: €400/kWp
  • 50–1,000 kWp: €150/kWp
  • Maximum total grant: €162,600
