1. What RetrofitReady is
RetrofitReady is a neutral marketplace that connects homeowners with information about SEAI grants and with verified, SEAI-registered contractors. We are not a contractor. We do not carry out installations. We do not guarantee any specific grant outcome. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to SEAI or any government department.
2. Grant calculations
Our grant calculations are based on published 2026 SEAI Better Energy Homes rates and are provided as estimates only. Actual grant amounts are determined by SEAI following inspection of completed works. We are not SEAI and have no affiliation with SEAI. Rates, eligibility criteria, and schemes may change without notice. Always verify current rates directly with SEAI at seai.ie or by calling 01 808 2100 before making any financial decisions.
3. Contractor listings
RetrofitReady lists contractors for information purposes only. We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any contractor listed on this site. Listing does not imply recommendation. Some contractors pay a subscription for enhanced visibility. RetrofitReady lists both SEAI registered and non-registered contractors. SEAI registered contractors are clearly marked. For grant-eligible work you must use an SEAI registered contractor. Always verify qualifications, insurance, and references independently before engaging any contractor. RetrofitReady does not verify the quality of work carried out by any contractor.
4. Homeowner terms
By using RetrofitReady you agree that information provided is for guidance only and does not constitute financial, legal, or professional advice. You will verify all grant information directly with SEAI before committing to any works. You will independently verify contractor qualifications, insurance, and references before engaging any contractor.
5. Contractor terms
By listing your business on RetrofitReady you agree that:
- All information provided must be accurate and kept up to date.
- SEAI registration claims must be current and valid. False SEAI registration claims will result in immediate removal from the platform.
- You must respond to homeowner enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- RetrofitReady does not guarantee any minimum number of leads, enquiries, or conversions.
- Once an enquiry is delivered to you, it is considered delivered. No refund is given for delivered enquiries.
- RetrofitReady may remove any listing at its sole discretion for breach of these terms.
- Prohibited behaviour includes: false claims about qualifications or experience, fake reviews, misleading homeowners about costs or grant eligibility, and any conduct that brings RetrofitReady into disrepute.
6. Subscriptions
Contractor listings are free for 6 weeks from registration. No payment method is required during the free period. After the free period, a monthly subscription is required to maintain your listing. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are given for partial months. RetrofitReady reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.
7. Complaints
Homeowners can contact hello@retrofitready.ie with complaints about contractors listed on the platform. RetrofitReady will investigate all complaints and may remove contractors where complaints are upheld. Contractors will be given an opportunity to respond before any listing is removed.
8. Data
Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using RetrofitReady you consent to the collection and processing of data as described in that policy.
9. SEAI registration verification
RetrofitReady verifies SEAI registration numbers against the SEAI public register. A “Verified” badge indicates that we have confirmed the SEAI registration number is valid at the time of verification. It does not indicate any endorsement of the contractor's work quality, pricing, or reliability. Homeowners should independently verify registration at seai.ie.
10. Limitation of liability
RetrofitReady is not liable for any loss or damage arising from: reliance on grant estimates or cost projections; the actions, quality of work, or conduct of any contractor listed on the platform; any change in SEAI grant rates or eligibility criteria; any decision made based on information provided on this platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to RetrofitReady in the 12 months preceding any claim.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
